My School MyVoice enlightens children about the development issues, provides them an opportunity to come out with their own understanding of the problems; think hard to spell out their suggestions and take actions to contribute to the goal.
Children including those in school, out- of school and children with disabilities , in select communities primarily in Delhi and Haryana, deliberated on factors that push children out of school. Children express own challenges and experiences and those faced by their siblings or peers in family, neighborhoods and schools.
All voices spoke for improvements in hygiene and sanitation facilities , safe environment equal opportunities to harness diverse talents and better participation and management in schools as the key mechanism to enable children to complete their education. Children identified participate actions that can bring change and recognized self- responsibilities to prevent themselves and peers against conflicting situations.
A hundred of their represenatativies articulated the collective voices before a very diverse and expert panel . Representatives from government , civil society, academic , councils,commissions, and foundations heard and advised children on the concerns raised and actions proposed by them.
India deals with complex , multi dimensional and enduring problems in many domains. It is interesting to see unprecedented progress and numerous spheres and the struggle of basics for masses continue to grow simultaneously in the country. Education or the lack of it is an established and the most logical rational for the situation.
"MY SCHOOL MY VOICE(MSMV)", a process - oriented participative approach aims to increase attendance and retention in schools through building capacities of adults and children for their participation . Children India believes n sustainable , result- oriented and people - centric strategies to deal with deep - rooted issues that affect India and its children.
